I myself have wondered what other artists use for their creations, not that it has to be copied for the same results, but how much of a variety you can achieve doing something similar in a different way. For example, how does an artist achieve a smoother line stroke with that program vs the one I'm using? Can it be done with this program as well? Was it done with a natural brush setting, created, or done freehand? If freehand, what kind of skill is needed to achieve a similar style? The questions can go on and on, most likely the answer is simple but the key lies in variety. Anyone can draw something, but it's much harder to master the subject at hand with so many ways to express it.
Anyways, small tangent aside, the program we primarily use for drawing, painting, illustrating is Clip Studio. Why? For me, 2 main reasons:
1. For the options it offers, It's reasonably priced( I got my version on sale half off at the time for $25) I know there are some great free alternatives out there, but my buddy Bjacks already had this program knew how to work it quite well. The feel of the program is nice for those of you that have some form of pen and tablet setup, customization options for pressure sensitivity being a good one. The programs tools seem to be decent as well, though in truth...I'm normally more of a traditional style guy that enjoys using digital programs for convenience. The things you can do with these programs are phenomenal and learning it is rewarding, but nothing beats good ole fashioned drawing techniques(the digital part only enhancing it further by not wasting physical resources). Onward, to the next reason...
2. It's user friendly and runs well on my hardware. One of the main complaints I have about some of the other programs that offer similar performance is they don't agree with my surface pro 2 tablet. More often than not these other programs will crash or run super slow as I'm trying to get my drawing colored or inked, even...ugh I'm getting frustrated over all the lost projects. It could just have been some settings but this program hasn't given me a reason to hate it yet, also all my keybindings and hotkeys work correctly. Some programs show the key bindings for certain actions, but they don't seem to work half the time(this could also be due to the programs slow performance on my machine buffering way too much). Either way, many reviews are mixed on what programs are better than others and why because everyone has opinions based on their needs, styles, and skill sets. Which leads to a question...If you're an artist that uses any digital programs, what programs do you use and why? Leave a comment below and let us know!

P.S. No, we're not making money from this by posting it, but I believe in supporting the company making our art possible. I'll just slide this link in here:
